Acceptable Use Policy

What you can and can't do on Shakewell Wallet.

Plain rules that keep passholders safe and our certificate relationships with Apple and Google intact. Last updated June 2026.

No illegal content on passes

Passes must not be used for regulated goods that the issuer is not licensed to sell, fraudulent schemes, gambling without an appropriate licence, or any activity prohibited by law in the customer's jurisdiction or the passholder's jurisdiction.

No spam

Push notifications to passholders must be relevant and opt-in. Marketing-style pushes are capped at a reasonable frequency (we publish soft limits in the docs). Transactional pushes (e.g. balance updates, reservation reminders) are unmetered. Customers must honour passholder opt-outs immediately.

No phishing or impersonation

Passes must accurately represent the issuing business. You may not impersonate another brand, mimic a well-known issuer to harvest credentials, or use deceptive branding designed to confuse passholders about who issued the pass.

No infringing material

Content placed on passes — logos, imagery, copy — must be owned by the customer or properly licensed. We respond to credible copyright and trademark complaints under standard takedown procedures.

No reverse-engineering or API abuse

Don't attempt to reverse-engineer the platform, probe it for vulnerabilities outside our responsible disclosure programme, exceed published rate limits, or use the API in ways designed to scrape, mirror, or replicate Shakewell Wallet itself.

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet brand compliance

Customers must follow Apple Wallet and Google Wallet brand and human-interface guidelines. Misuse of the Add to Apple Wallet badge, Google Wallet branding, or platform-specific iconography can result in certificate revocation by Apple or Google — which means your passes stop working.

Consequences of violation

We follow a graduated response: written warning with a deadline to remediate; temporary suspension if not remediated; termination of the account for serious or repeat violations. For severe violations (illegal activity, active phishing) we may suspend immediately without warning and notify the relevant authorities.

Report a violation

If you believe another Shakewell Wallet customer is violating this policy — for example, a pass you received looks like a phishing attempt — email abuse@shakewellwallet.com with the pass details and the issuing business. We investigate every report.
